Community Small Grants Programme Winter 2025

Community Small Grants Programme Winter 2025

Our Community Small Grants Programme is currently open to applications for winter specific projects.

Our programme is open to applicants all year round with four assessment dates throughout the year. For the final round of 2025 we’d like to specifically fund projects with a Winter focus.

We understand that winter can be a particularly difficult time of year for many in our local communities and we want to place a focus on making these darker days a bit brighter.

As such, until the 27th November we are inviting charities, grass-roots community groups and not-for-profit organisations within the Kirklees area to apply for a share of our winter grants pot.

Our usual criteria apply, except we’d like to specify for this round that projects be concluded by March 31st 2026 and that these projects have a seasonal focus.

This definition is deliberately wide as we want to welcome a broad array of applications. Past examples include helping to fund community winter festivals, funding knitting classes, winter meals and care packages.

Any applications we receive which do not have a winter focus or timeline will be considered in the new year when we launch the first-round of 2026 grants.

Our Grants Programme is aimed at charities, not-for-profit organisations, and community groups within Kirklees, which are working for the benefit of the local community and the environment.

Groups can apply for grants between £100 and £500, and we have tried to make the application process, grant conditions and criteria as straightforward and accessible as we can. If you want to apply for a grant, please read our Eligibility Criteria and Terms & Conditions before you start to fill in the application form.

To apply for a grant, please use the application form. You can download the form below and fill it in within Word and email to us. Alternatively, you can print it off and fill it in by hand and post it to us.

If you have a question after you have read the guidance, Eligibility Criteria and Terms & Conditions, please email us at community@darkwoodscoffee.co.uk and we will get in touch with you. We have formulated some guidance notes / FAQs, which can be downloaded below and will hopefully answer most of your questions.
