This is big news! This week we have been recertified as a B Corp, with an outstanding score of 147.4, reflecting our commitment to environmental and social sustainability.  

We were one of the first companies in Yorkshire to be certified as a B Corp, back in 2020; this successful recertification and dramatic increase in score highlights our sustainability journey over the last three years.  

Our purpose-driven business approach reflects this through our relationships with small coffee producers, our support for our local community and our efforts to reduce plastic in our packaging and decarbonise our production processes. 

The new score of 147.4 potentially propels us to be one of the highest-scoring B Corp coffee companies in the world!

What is B-Corp

B Corp is a globally recognised platform that includes some of the world's most sustainable and recognisable brands. It independently assesses the environmental and social impact of businesses to ensure that they act upon the values they seek to espouse.

In their words, Certified B Corporations are "businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. B Corps are accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy."

B Corp certification is open to commercial, for-profit businesses. It involves a rigorous assessment process, after which, the business must achieve a minimum of 80 points. The average UK business would score at around 50 points.
